I must admit, this outfit would have bothered me about a year ago. I would have let her wear it, knowing that everyone realizes when they look at her that she dressed herself. But, yesterday when I said she had to get dressed if she wanted to come to the store with me this is what she came up with. And, I really liked it. Really, truly liked it. I love that she doesn't care what others think and wears only what strikes her at the moment.
I told her on the way to the store that I really liked what she was wearing and wished I could be that cool. Her sweet expression on her face as she looked down at her skirt and said, "really mommy." Totally innocent, totally unexpected compliments on both our parts. I love you, my sweet and spicy!
