The rest of the week.

We get home from Kansas City on Sunday night. I spent Monday sick/sleeping. (thanks to Grandpa/Grandma Ocken for taking care of the kids) Deal with a brand new washer that has broken and flooding the house again, try to get some work in, re-pack for us, pack up the kids to head over to Des Moines with Grandpa/Grandma Mitzel. Pre-school, teach music class, drive to Omaha, lunch with family, good bye to kids, back to Lincoln. Drive to Missouri with Josh, Dave and Linda to cheer on the huskers...sigh...have a drink.

Then the rain came. We were woken up Thursday morning to a terrible thunderstorm, and it continued to pour all day long. But, that didn't dampen the fun. We had a good day, checking out Columbia. The campus is beautiful, the downtown is filled with cute little shops and great bars. We ate a great restaurants and had a good time at Harpos before the game. Most of the Missouri fans were nice with a few drunken college exceptions. And, even though we were soaked all the way through, it just added to the memories! We really had a good time.

For those of you who missed the game, Columbia had over 5 inches of rain, flooding, power outage at the stadium, and no sound system. It made for a very quiet game. I was thankful I didn't have to listen to the tiger roar that Missouri uses all game long. But, the Huskers won!! And, that made it all worth it.

Thank you to Dave and Linda for watching the kids for us and taking us to Missouri. Thank you my Dad and Norma for taking us to Kansas City and then watching the kids for us too! We owe our week to all of you!
